Step 1 of 5

What is your website?

Your domain is enough.

SEO for fertility brands is search optimisation for fertility testing, treatment and family-building platforms. Unlike most telehealth categories, meaningful commercial demand in fertility remains at low keyword difficulty, because the category professionalised more recently than hair loss or weight loss.

Compare this table with hair loss or ED. Every one of these terms sits below difficulty 25, and several carry real commercial intent.

"ivf cost" is the standout: 22,000 searches a month at difficulty 23. Cost queries are among the most commercially valuable in any category, because the searcher has moved past whether and is now asking how much. That combination of volume, intent and low competition does not exist in mature telehealth verticals.

"semen analysis" at difficulty 12 reflects how underserved male fertility is. The clinical reality is that male factor contributes to roughly half of infertility cases, and the content landscape does not come close to reflecting that.

02

Male fertility is the most underserved demand in the category

Male factor is involved in around half of infertility cases, and the content and marketing landscape treats it as a secondary concern.

The search behaviour differs meaningfully. Men research later, more briefly, and more privately. They arrive through symptom and test queries rather than through family-building content. Semen analysis at 7,400 searches and difficulty 12 is the clearest signal of the gap: real volume, real clinical relevance, almost no competition.

For a platform offering male fertility testing or treatment, this is the most efficient entry point in the category. For a platform that currently addresses only female fertility, it is the most obvious expansion.

03

The most emotionally demanding category we work in

Fertility content carries a duty of care that most health marketing does not.

Your reader may be in the middle of a failed cycle, a loss, or years of unexplained infertility. Content that promises outcomes, presents success rates without appropriate context, or uses urgency framing around declining fertility is not just a compliance problem, it causes harm to someone already struggling.

Success rate presentation is the specific trap. Rates vary enormously by age, diagnosis, cycle number and clinic, and a headline figure without that context is misleading even when it is technically accurate. Regulators have scrutinised this in multiple markets.

The content that performs best here is the content that is most honest about uncertainty. That is not a moral observation, it is what the data shows: pages that acknowledge variability and explain what determines an individual outcome outrank pages that lead with a percentage.

04

A long journey with distinct search phases

Fertility has one of the longest research-to-decision windows in telehealth, often spanning years, and search behaviour changes markedly across it.

Early phase queries are ovulation, cycle tracking and conception timing, high volume and low commercial intent. Middle phase is testing: AMH, semen analysis, at-home panels, where commercial intent appears and competition is still low. Later phase is treatment, IVF, IUI, egg freezing, and cost, where value concentrates and competition rises.

Most fertility brands build content for the phase they sell into and ignore the two before it. That surrenders the relationship to whoever educated the customer first, which in this category is usually a community forum or a competitor.

Here is what happens if nothing changes

  1. 01

    These difficulty scores are temporary

"ivf cost" at 22,000 searches and difficulty 23 is an anomaly that will correct as the category matures.

  2. 02

Male fertility is about to be discovered

Difficulty 12 on semen analysis reflects a gap that competitors will eventually notice.

  3. 03

The journey starts years before the purchase

Whoever educates your customer in phase one usually keeps them through phase three.

  4. 04

    Paid never becomes an asset

It does not compound and it does not transfer at exit.

When I am asked if I know of anyone in the SEO space, without hesitation I point them to DTC SEO. They truly understand the power of authority content, onsite metrics, and strategic backlinking and has the network to put it into play.

What we deploy for fertility brands

  • AI Search and GEO

Getting cited inside ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, and an honest account of what that is currently worth.

  • Doctor-Reviewed Content

Expert writers produce it. A licensed physician signs off on clinical accuracy before it goes live. In YMYL categories that step is not optional.

  • Digital PR

We connect your business to a credentialed expert and place their commentary in publications with real editorial standards. Their credibility becomes yours.

  • Link Building

Health publishers vet harder and charge more, which is why most agencies avoid the category and why links remain the largest ranking lever in it.

  • Technical SEO

Regulated catalogues accumulate structural problems general ecommerce sites never encounter. Most of the fix is consolidation rather than creation.

  • Programmatic SEO

Location and variant pages at scale, built as data rather than as templates, so they inform rather than duplicate.

Fertility SEO: what founders ask us

Why is fertility less competitive than other telehealth categories?

It professionalised more recently. Terms like "ivf cost" at 22,000 monthly searches and difficulty 23, or "semen analysis" at difficulty 12, would be unthinkable in hair loss or weight loss. The window is real but it is not permanent.

How should we present IVF success rates?

With full context. Rates vary substantially by age, diagnosis, cycle number and clinic, and a headline figure without that framing is misleading even when technically accurate. Regulators have scrutinised this in multiple markets, and honest presentation also ranks better.

Is male fertility worth targeting separately?

It is the most underserved demand in the category. Male factor is involved in roughly half of infertility cases and the content landscape does not reflect that. Semen analysis sits at difficulty 12 with 7,400 monthly searches.

Should we create content for people who are not yet customers?

In this category, yes. The research-to-decision window often spans years and moves through distinct phases. Brands that only produce content for the phase they sell into surrender the relationship to whoever educated the customer first.

How do we handle the emotional weight of this content?

By avoiding promises, urgency framing around declining fertility, and decontextualised success rates. Content that is honest about uncertainty performs better in this category, both in rankings and in trust, than content that projects confidence.

What does fertility SEO cost?

Fully managed engagements start at $7,995 per month. Competition here is lower than most of our categories, so engagements often sit nearer the entry point than in hair loss or GLP-1.
