Programmatic SEO for Telehealth Brands

Location and variant pages at scale, built as data rather than as templates, so they inform rather than duplicate.

Start with your domain. We will check for cannibalisation and doorway risk first.

Step 1 of 5

What is your website?

Your domain is enough.

Programmatic SEO for telehealth generates location, condition or treatment pages from a structured data source rather than authoring each individually. Done properly each page carries genuinely distinct information; done poorly it produces near-identical pages that risk classification as doorway content.

01

Location pages for a national brand are not local SEO

Worth stating plainly because it sounds like a contradiction and is not.

We do not do local SEO for local businesses. No Google Business Profile work, no map pack, no near-me campaigns for single-site clinics.

We do build location-targeted pages for national telehealth brands. "TRT in Texas", state availability and eligibility content. For a licensed multi-state prescriber those are among the highest-converting assets on the site.

The difference is the business behind the page. A single clinic ranking in one city is local SEO. A licensed multi-state platform capturing geographic demand across forty states from one content system is ecommerce SEO with a location layer.

02

The doorway line, and how to stay on the right side of it

Templated pages with a place name swapped in are doorway content, and they get deindexed. This is the most common way programmatic SEO fails in telehealth.

The test is whether each page carries information that is genuinely true only of that page. For a state page in TRT that means the actual prescribing rules in that state, whether async prescribing is permitted, what licensure you hold there, and what the practical access path is. Those things really do differ, which is what makes the page legitimate.

Where the differences are cosmetic, do not generate the page. Fifteen states where you have genuinely different rules is a better asset than fifty where forty-five say the same thing.

Built as data, not as pages

Single availability pageGoes stale quietlyNone, but no coverage either
Fifty hand-written pagesForty-nine get missedHigh, they overlap
Templated with name swapUpdates, but was never legitimateDeindexation risk
Generated from one recordUpdate once, all pages currentManaged by canonical hierarchy

The last row is the only one that survives contact with a business whose licensure map changes every quarter. When coverage expands you update one record rather than auditing fifty pages you wrote eighteen months ago.

When I am asked if I know of anyone in the SEO space, without hesitation I point them to DTC SEO. They truly understand the power of authority content, onsite metrics, and strategic backlinking and has the network to put it into play.

Most templated location pages are liabilities

Tell us where you are and we will show you which pages should exist.

Step 1 of 5

What is your website?

Your domain is enough.

  • Technical SEO

Regulated catalogues accumulate structural problems general ecommerce sites never encounter. Most of the fix is consolidation rather than creation.

  • Revenue Tracking

We spent four and a half months building a custom dashboard because GA4 cannot attribute ecommerce revenue accurately. Sessions are an input, not an outcome.

Programmatic SEO: what founders ask us

Is programmatic SEO safe?

When each page carries genuinely distinct information, yes. When it is a template with a place name swapped in, no. That is doorway content and it gets deindexed, which is the most common failure mode in telehealth.

Is this local SEO?

No. We do not do local SEO for local businesses. Location-targeted pages for a licensed multi-state prescriber are ecommerce SEO with a location layer, and the difference is the business behind the page.

How many state pages should we build?

Only as many as have genuinely different content. Fifteen states with real prescribing differences is a stronger asset than fifty where forty-five say the same thing. Cosmetic differences do not justify a page.

What happens when our licensure changes?

If the pages are generated from a single record, you update once and every page reflects it. Hand-written pages go stale one at a time and nobody notices until an audit.

Does this work for conditions and treatments too?

Yes, with the same test. Generate where the content genuinely differs per variant. Dosage and formulation pages are frequently better consolidated than split, because the SERPs overlap.

How do you prevent cannibalisation across generated pages?

A canonical hierarchy and disciplined internal anchor text, with a monthly Search Console check for any query where two URLs both take impressions. That flag is the signal to consolidate.
