COMPETITOR TEARDOWN

Marek Health: a known brand with almost no search position

1,619 monthly organic visits from 337 keywords. This is what most hormone brands actually look like underneath the audience, and why the category is still open.

Step 1 of 5

What is your website?

Your domain is enough.

Marek Health draws 1,619 monthly organic visits in the US from 337 ranking keywords, valued by Ahrefs at $2,458 a month. For a brand with genuine recognition in hormone optimisation, that is close to no organic position at all, and it is the normal state of the TRT category rather than an outlier.

01

The smallest footprint in this set

Every teardown in this series has shown a gap between brand strength and search position. This is the extreme case.\n\n337 keywords. For comparison, Hims ranks for 92,558 and Keeps, a single-condition brand, ranks for 4,103.

MetricOrganicPaid
Monthly visits1,61930
Monthly value$2,458$90
Keywords33714
Keywords in the top 3169

Half of their 337 keywords sit in the top three, which tells you the pages they have are fine. There are simply almost none of them.\n\nThis is a demand capture problem, not a quality problem, and it is the most fixable position in this entire teardown set.

02

What little commercial demand they hold

Non-branded keywords with commercial or transactional intent and a CPC above $2.00.

What little commercial demand they hold
KeywordVolumeKDCPCPositionTraffic
l carnitine injection8,70012$2.1913153
trt cream50065$2.46202
mct oil testosterone15015$2.16120
trt injection vs cream3045$2.5610

"l carnitine injection" at 8,700 searches and difficulty 12 is their largest commercial opportunity and they sit at position 13 on it. Difficulty 12 means that position is available to whoever writes the better page.\n\nEverything else on the list is under 500 searches. The TRT demand that matters, and our own category page documents it, sits on terms like "low testosterone treatment" at 3,100 and difficulty 19, and "trt online" at 2,100 with a $7.00 CPC. Marek holds neither.

03

Where the flank is open

This is less a teardown than a demonstration of what the TRT category looks like when nobody builds for search.\n\nThe symptom layer is untouched. Men do not search for hormone clinics, they search for what low energy, poor sleep and declining strength mean, and then they search what to do about it. That path is the entire funnel in this category and 337 keywords cannot cover it.\n\nThe protocol layer is the second gap. Ancillary medications, injection versus cream, lab panel interpretation and what a follow-up looks like are all high intent queries from people already committed to treating, and they are cheap to rank for because most brands are too cautious to publish them properly.\n\nThe third is that a brand with real audience recognition and no search position is paying twice: once to build the awareness, and again when the demand it created resolves to a competitor's page.

When I am asked if I know of anyone in the SEO space, without hesitation I point them to DTC SEO. They truly understand the power of authority content, onsite metrics, and strategic backlinking and has the network to put it into play.

Awareness without a search position is paid for twice

Tell us where you are and we will map the hormone demand nobody in your category has built for.

Step 1 of 5

What is your website?

Your domain is enough.

Where this leads

Marek Health: what founders ask us

How much organic traffic does Marek Health get?

1,619 monthly visits in the US from 337 ranking keywords, valued at $2,458 a month. 169 of those keywords sit in the top three positions.

Is this typical for a TRT brand?

Yes, which is the point of including it. The category has very few brands with a real content position, so the demand created by brand marketing routinely resolves to somebody else's page.

What is their biggest missed term?

"l carnitine injection" at 8,700 searches and difficulty 12, where they sit at position 13. Difficulty 12 means that position is available to whoever publishes the better page.

What would you build first?

The symptom layer, then the protocol layer. Men search what low energy and declining strength mean before they search for a clinic, and that path is the entire funnel in this category.

Where did these numbers come from?

A single Ahrefs Site Explorer export for marekhealth.com including subdomains, United States, taken on 1 August 2026. Nothing is adjusted, rounded or estimated.
